Martyn Ludlam and Reece Egner took to the usual early season race at Darley Moor ridng the 3rd category race. Slightly different from normal the circuit was ran in the opposite direction. With a couple of early moves not really sticking the pair looked comfortable in the bunch. With roughly 15 laps to go a group of 2 and a group of 3 had formed a nice advantage over the main bunch. Sensing this was where the race would be won from, Reece attacked and bridged across solo to the group of 3. They worked well together building a sizeable advantage over the main bunch, but were no match for the 2 riders out front, with Reece coming in for a respectable 4th place. Martyn then followed in shortly after in the bunch sprint where he would take a 9th place finish.
A good outing which saw points scoring rides by both club riders.
In the following E12 race Peter Cocker (Richardsons Trek) was riding quite strongly but missed the early break of 8 riders and was unable to bridge the rapidly expanding gap. He then made a chasing group of 6 riders which distanced the remnants of the bunch but made no headway on the leading group and finished 13th overall in the finishing sprint.
