The Boston Wheelers event at Ostlers Plantation near Woodhall Spa is always a popular round of the Lincs Cyclo-Cross league. The mix of fast fire tracks, flowing single track and some exciting ‘bomb’ holes make for some great racing. The sandy nature of the area also course had also dried out incredibly well despite flooding in the local area making some roads impassable.

There was another great ride by Amy Kolbert in the youth category 17th overall and 1st girl by a clear margin to continue her unbeaten run so far this year in the league. Local rider Billy Reed who usually rides mountain bike events finished 9th overall, which was a good ride against the regular cyclo-cross riders on their lighter cross bikes.

In the under 9s Max Kolbert was an excellent 3rd with Lewis Miller 8th and Scarlet Carling 12th (1st Girl).

Isla Kolbert complete a clean sweep of the girls events for the clubs youngsters with 4th overall after a race long battle with her rival from Louth. Oliver Bailey 8th, Rhys Browne 12th, Bradley Lupton 24th, Oliver Wix 26th, Daniel Lupton 28th completed an impressive turnout.

With 86 riders in the Veterans race the start is always a bit hectic as riders battle to get to the single track sessions as far forward as possible but this year everyone got away safely. This week Sean East 43rd (32nd vet 40) was the best of the club riders with Simon Cocker only 18 seconds behind in 47th (3rd Vet 60). Dave Miller 76th (6th vet 60). Julie Clark was 7th (3rd vet 40) in the ladies.

In the final seniors race a couple more local mountain bikers found the going tough but finished very respectably with Darren Reed 23rd and Tom Feely 33rd
