Final round of the Lincolnshire Cyclo-cross league took place at Abbey Farm Bardney. For once conditions were almost balmy at a venue where at this time of the year the cold wind from the east normally takes no prisoners. You have to be there to know what this is like.
The course is a mix of bumpy grass field with off-camber sections and some muddy bits plus a long flat grassy drag out to the bank of the river Witham before returning on some nice hard tracks.
In the under 16s Amy Kolbert finished finished 5th overall in the under under 16s race to finish a great season undefeated in the Under 14 and Under 16 girls age groups.
Yonger brother Max then followed up with his first win of the season in the under 9s while sister Isla was first girl in the under 12s. With clubmate Oliver Bailey determinedly holding of Isla for 6th overall. While Rhys Browne place 12th and Daniel Lupton 16th.
In the veterans Simon Cocker went into the race knowing who he needed to beat to hold onto 3rd overall in the Vets 60+ league and after a good start maintained his position for 31st overall (2nd vet 60) to take the points needed. Sean East was 42nd (27th Vet 40) and Adam Kolbert 47th (29th Vet 40). There was a disappointing end to the season for Paul Conneely after some good recent rides, a muscle injury half way through the race meant he had to retire.
Julie Clark rounded of a good season for 2nd overall (1st vet Lady) with Fiona Kolbert 4th Overall (3rd vet Lady)
