A record breaking night in the 7th round of the club 10 mile handicap league with no less than 19 of the 29 riders recording personal best times on the night, thanks to the warm calm conditions. Fastest on the night was Jim Coleman breaking the all time course record, we think by 5 seconds, in a time of 21.05, 2 minutes clear of Dave Strickson in 2nd and Adi Makinder from Sleaford in third.
Neil Dowsett took the first handicap position with an improvement of over a minute with schoolboys Ashley Money and Karl Baillie also showing big improvements in 2nd and 3rd. Karl also took the biggest scalp of all by beating his dad for the first time and so taking a reputed big cash bonus.
Reece Egner still leads the handicap competition overall on 36 points but Kim Paxton and Karl Baillie are catching up on 30 and 28 points respectively.
Next week there is a break in the handicap league for the club championship 10 mile event on the same course for all categories, all welcome.
