Good club participation in the second round of the Lincs handicap Road race league promoted by Lincoln Wheelers at Aisthorpe.

Over seven laps of a 3.5 mile course including the climb back up to Lincoln ridge each lap. Group 2 rode well together and quickly caught group 1 for 4 minutes but were eventually overhauled by group 3 for 3 minutes, with 2 laps to go. 
Meanwhile group 5 had overhauled group 4 and together caught groups 2 and 3 on the penultimate climb up the hill. Despite taking an initial gap it all came back together and a big bunch hit the final climb on narrow roads with 1 km to go and inevitably there was a touch of wheels with a couple of riders hitting the floor and causing a lot of delay.
In the confusion several riders got clear and in a tight sprint Jim Coleman took the win by the narrowest of margins, see photo. Schoolboy Peter Cocker finished 13th in his first senior race followed by Paul Conneely, Jacob Storey, Simon Cocker, Neil Sentance, Peter Barnes and Toby Kiely. Tony Mendham retired with a lap to go to ensure a good view of the finish.
