22 August - Barkston Heath

The
final event in the Summer Barkston Heath series, was dry but again
a stong northerly wind made conditions difficult.
A good turnout for the U16 event saw some spirited riding with
George Thompson, Patrick Cutmore and Peter Cocker making the most
of their handicap to stay away from the older riders, with Gorge
going on to win alone. Jade Ostler won the sprint from the bunch
containing the riders in contention for the series overall.
After the event all riders were presented with a Britich Cycling
Go-Ride Tour de France T shirt to mark the completion of the coaching
course for this summer.
In the senior event Jim Coleman again proved the strongest, riding
on to win alone for a clear win from Patrick Owen.
