The heavy rain earlier in the day cleared away to leave a relatively
calm evening, although the breeze did appear to get up in the second
half of the race, which seemed to mean that the faster rides come
from the front half of this field. Taking advantage of this was
Witham Wheelers very own master 'head banger' Dave Strickson
knocking out his best 10 for some years in 21.50 for a very respectable
equal 13th overall position.
Ian Simpson from the club also rode well to record a time of 26.16
for 81st position.
A word of thanks to Dave Herd for promoting the
event and all the marshalls and helpers for turning out on a Saturday

A note for all of you grovelling up and down Gorse Lane every Tuesday,
it is possible to go at least a minute quicker, just find a nice
piece of flattish dual carriageway.!
