Phil Atherton and Rich Ellingworth traveled to Eastway for the 4th Cat 25
lap event.
Eastway is one of the UK's premier bike racing circuit with
tight
corners and small climbs; it tests riders of every ability. On the last
lap
with 50 metres to go Rich was 5th in line for the bunch sprint when the
rider in front switched him across the track. Rich went down heavily taking
4 other riders out. Rich was lucky and only received cuts and bruises,
he
was more disappointed as a top finish would have been the case.
Phil Atherton found the pace too quick and retired.
