Results — 11.5 mile circuit time trial

18 May 2004
The best evening of the year so far with the sun blazing at a pleasant 22 degrees and a barely noticeable westerly wind giving us a good turnout of riders and spectators.

The circuit used is the same one that is used for our Road Race starting at Hungerton and heading westward to Saltby then left to Sproxton and then taking the first left each time though to Skillington, Ponton Heath and back to Hungerton. The field consisted of twelve members, ten on solos and two on a tandem, and one guest rider, Gavin Granidge (Newark Castle CC), who returned in 46.15 having suffered the pains of a puncture out on the far-reaches of the circuit. The tandem pairing of Simon and Ben Smith, in their first outing on a tandem, returned a creditable 39:44. The Top rider was again John Spendlow, not quite cracking the 30 minute barrier, but consolidating his win in the 12.5 mile circuit TT last week. Bill Harrison came in second one and a half minutes behind John, a wider gap than last week - the hill to Ponton Heath must take a toll.

Next week we are back to the Cricket Club and the Evening Ten series.
