13 April 2004
With a warm evening sun shining giving a pleasant 13 degrees Celsius and a neglible NW breeze the riders started the first 10 of the year. Young Ben Smith was first off for his first Time Trial and did an excellent 38:39. The best performance of the night was 'old reliable' Dave Strickson who returned 23:38 just 37 secs off his 2003 best. The best ride of the night was by Annie Arthur who knocked a massive 1 min 30 secs off her 2003 best to win the handicap for the night. So Annie leads the season long competition with 10 points, followed by Glenn Meredith, 9 pts, Tom Mendham, 8 pts, Dave Strickson, 7pts, Tony Mendham, 6pts, Matt Penifold, 5 pts, Richard Edwards, 4 pts, Bill Harrison, 3 pts, Rob Howbrook, 2 pts and Dave Herd, 1 pt. This year the Championship has a different format; it will be decided on your best ten results from the thirteen available evening 10 mile TTs.
