HSBC Track Cluster – 10th May 2020 Proposed Date

Some information with regards the Track Cluster sessions organised for the younger riders to gain familiarity with riding on the Track.

Many thanks to Tracey McAndrew and her fellow coaches for keeping the club at the forefront of these sessions.

**********************************************************************************************

I have you down to lead the cluster session for the East Mids on 10/05/20 if that’s ok?

Please confirm to the Arena (copied above) asap that you want to take the session 10/05/20 by completing & returning the booking form attached.

We all agreed that changes need to be made for 2020 and we feel this model benefits clubs that take on the sessions themselves, having the option to generate income for filling the session.

Offers coach support & mentoring if needed from Arena coaches, dates/sessions for riders will not be lost as the Arena will organise Go – Ride sessions for dates not taken.

This should provide more opportunities for riders/coaches, support for clubs and improve communication for everyone involved.

Changes for 2020 are as follows:

  • 2 Clusters – East Midlands & West Midlands
  • CCO’s (Coaching & Clubs Officers) Dean Hughes & Andy Riley look after EM/WM clubs respectively – reminders/EMS (on line entry) support, session support when current work programme allows.
  • £15 per rider (cheaper than Manchester) lowering the breakeven rider point and supports the inclusion of additional arena coach.
  • Clubs lead the session but have the option to tag Derby Arena coaches in – cost of coach £25 allowing for a consistent coaching approach and mentoring for cluster coaches – this can be an option for all sessions if needed.
  • We welcome 4 new clubs to the cluster – EM Clubs – Ilkeston CC & Lincoln wheelers. Central Clubs – Milton Keynes & Kettering CC will be joining the West Midlands Cluster.
  • Arena take the session if no clubs come forward Go – Ride session, so no sessions are lost (margin kept by Arena)
  • Rider Tracking system document on one drive.

Below is the template we would like you to use on the EMS going forward.

Also, EM Rider tracking system attached –  you will need to download one drive here if you haven’t already

Have look through the rider tracking system and give me a call if any problems.

Info for Riders

Please read carefully!

Acceptance – Priority for acceptance to this event will initially go to club members of the East Midlands Cluster clubs: VC Lincoln, Witham Wheelers, Matlock, NEL GR, Welland Valley, Lincsquad, Lincoln Wheelers, Leicester Forest, Mansfield Tri Club, Beeston, Ilkeston CC, Heanor, Melton Olympic

If riders from those clubs don’t take all available spaces by two weeks to go we will accept applications from riders who are members of Go-Ride clubs outside the region. Preference will be given to riders from clubs within the Derby Track Cluster scheme.

Riders will then be accepted, in order of entry date, for unfilled spaces in each ability group.

To be clear, East Midlands riders will have no priority over riders from other Clusters after the two week cut off, so the onus is on them to enter before this date. Even then, acceptance is not guaranteed as groups may fill with East Mids riders who entered earlier.

Acceptance remains at the discretion of the organiser.  We reserve the right to alter the size and number of ability groups at any time.
