On the 15th July on behalf of the Sleaford Wheelers I shall have
the honour of promoting the inaugural Nev Crane Memorial 25 Mile
Time Trial. A year ago this week Nev passed away just as he met
his chums for their usual mid week bash. A lovable character indeed
is gone. He was responsible for resurrecting the Sleaford Wheelers
in 1965.
During his racing career he amassed more than 100 road race wins.
Warsaw-Berlin-Prague, Tour of Holland and Tour of Tunisia were
some of the events he rode in GB colours. Five times a Tour of
Britain rider and a stage win. No mean time trialist either. His
100 and 12 hour records are still on the books.
The event in his honour will boast a prize list of over £700.
Well spread too. If you win it you take it. No rule applies of
one prize per rider in this event. Make a note in your diary.

To the Fastest Lady if current known best of 1-02-54 recorded

THE NEV CRANE MEMORIAL TROPHY will be awarded annually to the
fastest rider from the Sleaford Wheelers Cycling Club.
Entries using Cycling Time Trials Entry Forms (Jan 2004) should
