After bad weather twice caused the cancellation of the 100km reliability ride, it was third time lucky with a bright but cold day. 20 riders took to the roads in three groups for what is quite a testing course on a rolling route out to Colston Bassett then via the cafe at Wymondham to Little Bytham and back to Grantham.
From Group 1 five riders finished in an average speed of 14.6mph. Bill Harrison, Steve Pullinger, Bill Wilson, John Farmer and Chris Crawford. Dave Beckett came in slightly behind on 14.4mph
Group 2 proved to be totally unreliable coming up with several good reasons why they should stop in the cafe and then take a short cut home to only manage 51 miles (the shame).
Group 3 finished 3 riders Chris Sammler and Paul Conneely, riding again only 4 weeks after breaking his collar bone, at a rapid 18.4mph with Dave Strickson only slightly slower.
